It
isn't rocket science,,,
Using long winded explanations for
technologies to confuse, dumbfound and ultimately alienate the client
from a project, is the sign of a poor designer.
Employing "layman's terms" to fully explain processes allows
the client to understand, and therefore be more involved in, their
design project. Thus ensuring the end result will fulfil the original
outline of the brief & not spiral out of control and away from
the desired objective.
D.I.Y.?
WIth the technology now readily available many business owners prefer
to produce their own promotional material (or know a friend who can).
Therefore it's only reasonable to ask the question: "with all
the technology at hand to create company promotional material why
use a professional designer?". The answer is simple: using a
professional designer guarantees that your image will stand out from
that of a competitor who hasn't employed such services.
Life is pretty simple: You do some stuff. Most fails.
Some works. You do more of what works. If it works big, others quickly
copy it. Then you do something else. The trick is the doing something
else.
