Juliana's hotel 2003
This 3 colour logo was created in adobe illustrator using photography as reference.
The flower (Hibiscus) grows around the property and is pollinated by insects and humming birds, the humming bird illustration shown is not that of a real species but rather a fabrication including a mixture of the corporate colours: burgundy, yellow & black.

The flower represents the hotel and the humming bird the guest. On the opening page of the web site the humming bird can be seen revisiting the flower, a return guest, if you like, to the flower of Juliana's Hotel.

The flight theme is carried through the rest of the identity with typography on curved paths between the bird & flower.

The font has a "yesteryear" feeling to it, strong in black but relaxed with gentle lateral curves and subtle serifs.

It has proved to be a very popular logotype.

J.W, Hotel & Apartments N.V. 2003
Company logo for the owners of Juliana's Hotel. The challenge was to somehow reflect the qualities of the Juliana's identity. This was achieved following the avian theme and incorporating the hotel logo colours. The "J" forms the body & the "W" forms the wings.
Ecolodge Rendezvous 2002
This 2 colour logo has a very informal feel reflecting the philosophy of the eco hotel.

The frog is an original illustration and lends itself well to some fun animation on the opening page of the web site.

Because the lodge is targeted towards nature lovers and hikers (early risers) the "l" & "d" have an abstract roof forming a cabin with the sun breaking over it. The cartoon is a tree frog which can be heard singing in the evenings and are frequently seen in and around the cabins.

The typeface is laid back and jovial to match the mood of the company

Rijnberg design 2002
This 2 colour design was chosen from 4 presented identities.
Ilya Rijnberg is a furniture designer based in the Netherlands, he has a prestigious client list including Swatch requiring him to have a professional logotype and web identity to display his abilities.

The logo is illustrated in isometric showing the 3 design dimensions (X,Y & Z) that are a daily challenge to every 3d designer.

The duplication of the "R" represents the different materials combined and working in harmony to produce a finished piece.

The D is shown in shadow re-enforcing the 3 dimensional quality of the logo. Rijnberg & Design follow the same planes as the image in a confident no fuss san serif face.
